July 10 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm PDT

Virtual Event Virtual Event
$20.00 – $70.00

Have you ever wondered how to follow honeybees in the wild? Join the growing community of wild bee trackers and learn the ancient art of beelining. Beelining is the craft and science of locating wild honeybees. The practice is as old as humankind and has gained new relevance in a time of the accelerating mortality of managed honeybees. Wild (unmanaged) honeybees on the other hand have evolved as self-sustaining populations and are an essential focus for conservation and research.

Through careful observation and honing your awareness, you’ll develop the skills necessary to navigate through the landscape and locate wild honeybee nests. We will explore the rich history, essential tools, techniques, and strategic approaches involved in beelining, along with methods for monitoring wild honeybee populations. Through regular surveillance of wild nests, you’ll witness their life cycles and resilience, contributing invaluable data to bolster their protection and conservation.

Embark on a journey into the captivating realm of wild honeybees within the landscape, where every discovery unveils the intricate tapestry of their existence.
