Arboreal Apiculture Salon #42

October 23, 2025 @ 9:00 am - 10:15 am

It will be an honor to have Prof. Keith S. Delaplane as our guests at the Salon. Keith S. Delaplane, MBE, is Professor Emeritus of Entomology at the University of Georgia whose work foregrounds the evolutionary dynamics that shape honey bee societies—from cooperation and kin selection to colony-level adaptation. His book Honey Bee Social Evolution distills decades of research into how eusociality emerges, stabilizes, and responds to ecological pressures, offering a rigorous framework for conservation and practice. Delaplane’s scholarship links evolutionary process to on-the-ground stewardship, informing resilient approaches to bee health and pollination. More info to come.
